Harbors cities have historically been connected through maritime shipping routes, and such harbors have been invaluable to economic growth and urban development. However, these harbor cities face unique challenges: traffic, land-use issues, environmental impact, urban revitalization issues, and industrial transformation issues, to name a few. To address these challenges, Kaohsiung will hold the 2016 Global Harbor Cities Forum, where harbor cities are invited to gather together to discuss these critical issues.
The 2016 Global Harbor Cities Forum is a platform for addressing the sustainable economic growth of harbor cities. The goal of the Forum is to facilitate international cooperation between harbor cities. We anticipate that the Global Harbor Cities Forum will become an annual event where harbor cities can gather together, share knowledge and experiences with each other, and collaborate on a variety of different projects and issues.
